Hi there!

My name is Michelle Ledesma, but I prefer to be called Mac – my nickname.

It's through food that so many of us connect with our childhood, our families, friends, our community, and even the world.

For me home is where the heart is, and while growing up the kitchen was always the heart of my childhood home. That's where my mom was, and still is! I can even remember my dad wandering in and out of the kitchen tasting mom's cooking as he passed through. It was the place to be.

Now as a new empty-nester I find myself fully embracing the kitchen. Cooking for fun, rather than "Mom, what's for dinner?" The picky eaters have flown the coop, which leaves me to explore new foods, and gadgets like never before! I crave new recipes, cookbooks, cooking magazines, gadgets, spices, EVERYTHING you can think of when it comes to the kitchen! There's so much to learn and experience.

I created Dishin’ In The Kitchen to have a creative place in my life. A place to share my cooking journey with family and friends. I want to share what I find with you, too!

Dishin’ In The Kitchen contains my audio interview episodes, which will have my interviews with chefs, cookbook authors, bakers, food-blogges, home-cooks and anyone else who is involved with the kitchen nook. We'll all be sharing our favorite recipes and kitchen products with you.

I live in Southern California with my husband. We have two grown daughters, and one son-in-law. Each one of them is a light in my life. In June, 2010, our first grandchild was born and Hubby & I took on our new roles in the family as Nana and Poppi! We're over-the-moon!! When we all get together you can usually find us in the kitchen or at the dining table talking, sharing, laughing (sometimes crying) - even playing board games together. So come on into my kitchen, and let's dish!
