I just adore it when Hubby is in the kitchen, especially when he's the one cooking! So needless to say, my interest was piqued when I learned about another man in the kitchen: Jeff Baker, better known as "Man In The Kitchen". Jeff's cooking message is all about encouraging men to get in their kitchens and cook.

Ladies, don't feel left out. Trust me when I tell you there is something for everyone. Jeff's recipes are equally as inviting for you to try as well. In fact, Jeff's cookbook, Man In The Kitchen, is chock full of recipes - over 250! There are more than enough for you and your man to share. Recipes that can build up your confidence and get a good meal on the table without overwhelming you with long complicated lists of hard-to-find ingredients, or cooking instructions that you'd have to go to culinaray school in order to understand.

Be sure to take a listen to my audio interview with Jeff (click on the arrow above). We talk about his Cookbook, TV cooking show, instructional videos, and so much more. Find out which recipe Jeff shares with you, what manly liquor he prefers to cook with, and what his culinary guilty pleasure is. Enjoy!

Welcome back to the Cookbook Club! Today I'm sharing my interivew with Amy McCoy, author of the new cookbook "Poor Girl Gourmet", and we have a cookbook giveaway! Enjoy!

Have you ever met someone who just oozes genuine happiness? Someone who is so passionate about what they do that their excitement can hardly be contained within them, and their fervor is contagious? Well, I have! Interviewing Amy  was a delight. I couldn't help but smile all throughout my talk with her. Not long ago I came across Amy and her new cookbook  while looking for new food-blogs. I was intrigued by the title, of course, but much more interested in her "low budget, high quality food" philosophy. I really wanted to know more about what influenced Amy's easy, rustic, yet gourmet-style recipes. I knew this was a gal I had to meet! Dare I confess that I'm a fan? Yes, I am! Amy's cookbook did not disappoint. There are technique tips, advice on how to help you cut back on the food bill, wine and menu selections, and a small section on splurges, too! All while staying focused on having a small budget and eating in stlye.

Meet Abigail Johnson Dodge ~ Desserts 4 Today ~ Cookbook Giveaway

Welcome to our very first edition of the Cookbook Club! What's the Cookbook Club? It's where I'll be sharing recipes from cookbooks with you and, best of all, interviewing the cookbook authors, too, for my audio podcast episodes!

Sometimes I see a cookbook on a shelf, or hear about a new one, then wonder what's really inside. Well, here on dishininthekitchen.com I'll be making and sharing recipes from the cookbooks I introduce you to, and give you a chance to see what's really inside. Now that should help you know which cookbooks you want sitting on your shelf!

Today I'm very happy to be introducing you to Desserts 4 Today by Abigail Johnson Dodge. Desserts 4 Today is a new cookbook from a veteran pastry chef that just came out in September, 2010. When I first learned about this cookbook I have to admit I was drawn in by the number 4. What was so significant about 4, and what did that have to do with desserts? I was also taken with this chef's first name. Why? Because my first grandchild, who was just born this past summer, is also named Abigail. How could I go wrong?!

I have to tell you that this cookbook hasn't spent very much time on "the shelf". It's been out with pages wide open! Hubby and I have already had the "Sparkling Cocoa Drops", and the "Rich Cocoa Pudding"....okay, so we're a little hooked on chocolate right now, but rest assured this book contains many non-chocolate-based recipes, too. I just haven't gotten to them yet. But I will! The recipes, which are made up of only four ingredients really couldn't be any easier. And you know me, I'm all about easy! The ingredients are what I call "everyday". You probably have most of them already sitting in your fridge and pantry. Go get this cookbook! It's a must-have for anyone and everyone no matter what your level of cooking is. It's there for you as a source of inspiration and has endless possibilities with Abby's "Switch-Ins" and "Gussy It Up" suggestions. They'll inspire you to come up with your own creations, too. Now go! Have some FUN!

Have you ever wondered who makes food look so darn tasty in all of those food photographs you see in magazines and cookbooks? You would think it's the chef, or the photographer, who sets up the food for the picture, but most often it's not. This is where the food stylist walks in. Did you even know that job existed?
